First Look ("we", "us", "our") is operated by an individual based in New Zealand. By accessing or using the First Look website or tool (the "Service"), you ("you", "the user") agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
First Look reads the visible content of a website you submit and generates an automated, AI-produced audit of that page: a score and a set of suggested improvements. A basic scan is free; a full report is available as a one-time purchase.
The report is AI-generated and automated. It is not professional marketing, legal, financial, accessibility, or business advice, and it is not reviewed by a human before being shown to you. It may be incomplete, inaccurate, or miss things a human expert would catch. You should use your own judgment, and seek qualified professional advice, before making business decisions based on it.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By submitting a website URL, you confirm that you own that website, or that you have the right and authority to have it evaluated by an automated tool (for example, because it's your own business's site, or you've been asked to review it on someone's behalf). Don't submit URLs to probe, scrape, or evaluate sites without that authority.
The full report is a one-time purchase at the price shown at checkout; there is no subscription. Payment is processed by Stripe, and requires a First Look account so the unlocked report can be saved to your history. Because the report is generated and delivered instantly, purchases are final and non-refundable except where required by law (see below).
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any right or remedy you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, or any other New Zealand consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded. That includes your right to a remedy if the Service fails to meet the guarantees of acceptable quality or fitness for purpose that the law provides.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the AI-generated content will be accurate or complete.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising from or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss (including lost profits or lost business).
We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you've breached these Terms.
To generate a report, the text of the page you submit is sent to a third-party AI provider (currently Anthropic) for analysis, and processed by our hosting infrastructure. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
You retain all rights to your own website content. We retain rights to the First Look name, design, and the format/presentation of the reports we generate.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
